Leading food products/CPG Company has an exciting and ambitious strategic plan that will enable them to take their growth and performance to the next level. Our client is looking for a Sr. Director, PMO and Strategy Execution to play a critical role in bringing to life their ambition. The role leads a team of Project Managers across Portfolio, Program and Project Management in the areas of innovation, productivity and sales initiatives. This role will provide opportunities to make a visible and meaningful impact. Responsibilities include:

PMO (Project Management Office) and Portfolio Management
Create, operationalize and lead Company's PMO
Activate portfolio management best practices; assess the project portfolio for the following; size / feasibility / ease / sufficiency to achieve targets, recommend priorities and trade-offs to ensure goals are met or exceeded, recommend resource allocation, etc.
Program and Project Management
Drive continuous improvement of the project management practices
Refine project stage gate model to drive value, speed and quality (cost effectively), especially for innovation
Be a player / coach by selectively taking on a project manager role, specifically:
Scope and plan projects to include setting goals and objectives, creating project plans, determining resources and budgets, identifying risks and contingency planning, develop a change management plan and set KPIs
In addition, execute with excellence (drive owners / contributors to deliver on time and within budget, manage stakeholders / communication, anticipate risks and identify mitigation approaches, manage the budget, monitor progress / KPIs)
Dive into Company operational and commercial activities to be a subject matter expert to push the thinking (vs. just pushing a timeline)
People Leadership
Lead and develop a team of PM professionals by bringing best practices, driving critical thinking, leading teams to search for non-standard solutions when required
Build robust knowledge of capabilities and capacity across functions
Required Skills:
Bachelor's degree; Masters or MBA a plus
A minimum of 10 years relevant experience in portfolio, program and project management
Food experience ideal/highly preferred
Certification in Project Management
Deep knowledge of how CPG (preferably food) companies and large retailers operate
Experience in integrated business planning
Track record of successfully executing portfolio, program and project management (especially innovation stage gates)
Distinctive people skills with a proven track record of driving change, influencing (especially at a higher level) and stakeholder management
Strong organization skills, especially managing complex projects
Outstanding written and oral communication skills
Strong problem solving in both ambiguous and tactical situations and a bias for action
Experience managing small teams with limited resources in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders
Demonstrated flexibility and ability to perform in a dynamic environment and comfort working in ambiguity
Entrepreneurial and creative solution orientated mindset, with the ability to 'think like as an owner', be flexible
Forward thinking to look around the corner and see what is coming
Demonstrated commitment to excellence, high quality standards, and attention to detail
Proficiency in PM tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Smart Sheet), Excel and PowerPoint
