Job Purpose
We are currently seeking a Director of New Business Development, reporting to the CEO, to drive sales and profitability growth by identification, acquisition and initial development of new customers before handover to our account management team. This role will take responsibility for marketing and selling company products and solutions to prospective new clients, identifying new opportunities for products and solutions offered by the company. The successful candidate will work alongside the National Sales Manager in New York (Long Island) and with the senior management team in the UK to grow sales through deployment of value-based selling proposition coupled with the use of their own relationship development and negotiation skills, and the effective day to day management of a small team of specialist new customer only sales people (to be recruited subject to approval of the successful candidates new business acquisition plan) and the local Marketing department.
Principal Accountabilities
Take full responsibility for the research, identification, prospection and acquisition of new customer accounts with a targeted minimum annual value of USD 500k per account and an anticipated total yield of USD 3m in new business from the first full yearâ??s activity.
Work closely with the senior management team in the UK to develop customer acquisition strategies to obtain maximum sales volume and profitability.
Work with the National Sales Manager to ensure a smooth handover of accounts into the account management team once the appropriate level of sales has been reached.
Build a new business prospect pipeline for both current and subsequent years.
Develop and oversee the marketing function and identify the key marketing strategies for successful new customer acquisition and sales growth.
Maintain a clear vision of product marketplace, focusing on new product potential and opportunities, establishing new sales and marketing areas.
Coordinate development of value-based sales presentations, establishing and leading the pitch to key prospects and clients.
Ensure that agreed, standardized, prospecting tools and processes are used at all times.
Develop relationships with senior decision makers (CEOâ??s, CFOâ??s, CMOâ??s, VP Marketing, VP Store Development/Store Formatting) within potential clients.
Maintain current knowledge of corporate sectors and proactively seek to identify emerging trends.
Requirements
Proven relevant SME experience in new customer acquisition for manufactured product, preferably in the retail or mass transportation industries.
Demonstrable ability to reshape a web, social media and PR strategy with the clear aim of acquiring new, profitable customer accounts.
Sound understanding of financial planning and effective management of a sales and marketing budget.
Prior people and team management experience
Engagement in product development.
Understanding of technology to a level of proficiency necessary to speak with authority in regard to the Companys solutions.

Outstanding customer-facing skills including communication, presentation, and customer advocacy.
Ability to present a confident, articulate and outgoing persona with the ability to establish professional connection with key decision makers.
Demonstrable, deep rooted business relationships at senior level at Fortune 500 retailers, banks, telcos, airports and government institutions.
Ability to build strong relationships.
Strong professional image while excelling in problem solving skills.
Excel in interpersonal relationships supporting a team environment.
