|Detailed Job Description:
The Director of Sales conceptualizes, develops, plans and executes a comprehensive business strategy that develops effective solutions to support a wide array of customers in a rapidly changing market place. The Director drives team performance in attaining monthly and annual sales targets, developing strategic initiatives with key customers, establishing strategic business relationships and providing input on all strategic sales plans and their implementation. This Director also controls the budget and related expenses to achieve targets for the channel.
Drives sales team to achieve top and bottom line performance objectives as well as portfolio management and strategic initiatives.
Strategizes on business development opportunities based on the competitive landscape.
Builds strong relationships with the DMMs and GMMs across customers in the channel.
Creates the right segmentation strategy for brand collections.
Develops multi-channel marketing solutions to drive customer sell through.
Strategizes and drives the portfolio strategic direction within the customer segment.
Understands and drives divisional goals of full price sell thru and shop productivity.
Leads the team in identifying, customizing and optimizing specific brand and product opportunities for their customer.
Strategizes with Product and Marketing teams to develop 360 degree marketing plans to support customer base.
Builds and executes sales strategies by effectively managing Account Managers, Associate Account Managers and Sales Analysts.
Negotiates skillfully in tough situations with both internal and external groups.
Develops processes to expedite change and efficiencies throughout department.
Facilitates the partnership between the team and internal departments including trade marketing, brand management, product, finance, etc. to drive business and strategies with the channel store targets.
Supports the career development of team through ongoing training and development
Bachelor's Degree with emphasis in Business or Marketing
8-10+ years Wholesale Sales/retail background with department store experience
Experience leading the strategy and vision
Influential and ability to engage with senior leadership and high stakeholders
Negotiation skills; persuasive
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, as well as strong presentation skills
Strong analytical skills in financial, marketing and demographic analysis of sales
Ability to develop and build key relationships within the department store environment; builds business trust and earns confidence with store management
Demonstrated ability to succeed in a complex environment
Demonstrated leadership skills and effective team mgt.
Proven track record of increased sales revenue and developing business results
Prior experience managing a variety of customers
Available for limited domestic and international travel
Strong PC skills, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Limited travel required
