|Detailed Job Description:
Be a trusted resource for both front-line employees and supervisors/managers on various HR issues that arise in the company's transportation division. Work with the SVP and to consult with department leaders on the most complex workforce planning and analysis issues. Conduct quantitative analysis of HR data and provide recommendations for developing company wide policies, processes, and procedures in the transportation environment. Work closely with department leaders to impact ongoing improvements to human relations. Must have Union Experience
Plans and recommends effective programs and processes to ensure appropriate People, Organization and Culture.
Participates in workforce planning at transportation level, in conjunction with management.
Coaches/counsels management on HR related employee issues
Provides career advice and counseling for transportation employees
Reports on transportation level human capital metrics
Work with department managers to develop new business strategies for the improvement of various departments such as turnover and find strategic solutions that can be implemented in the workforce.
Function as a business partner responsible for the communication of new policies, programs and serve as a HR liaison for employees and managers.
7+ years of broad Human Resources experience with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a labor relations capacity within a transportation environment
Strong analytical, negotiating, influencing, communication, and organization skills
Strong conflict management and showing the ability to interact effectively with employees and management using appropriate interpersonal skills
Preferably bilingual in English and Spanish
Strong, positive communication style that strengthens employee engagement within the division
Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, including strength in using Excel and PowerPoint
Project management skills and experience
Unquestioned integrity and ability to demonstrate empathy to fellow employees
